The following information serves to advise you on the financial
aspects of attending Caltech. One of our goals is to
facilitate a pleasant experience navigating some of the
necessary bureaucratic processes. The staff is available
Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Please note
our contact information.
The Bursar’s Office has a variety of functions related to student financial services. These include: mailing monthly
statements, receiving and receipting payments, helping calculate payments, creating individualized payment
plans, furnishing account
information, issuing refunds, applying scholarships and other financial aid, issuing loan
information (loan entrance and exit interviews), creating promissory notes and gathering signatures for loans, issuing loan deferments, collecting outstanding account and loan balances, creating 1098T
tax forms as well as responding to all student-related fiscal inquiries.
Other
pertinent, detailed information on charges, refunds and
our processes is contained in the Caltech catalog, usually
available by mid-September.
Our
Advisory, posted on the web site
for each term, gives registration information. E-mail and
phone contacts for the various campus areas that send charges
and credits unto the student account are also listed here.
We know that your time at Caltech will be interesting, rewarding and very busy.
We therefore post notices throughout the year on our
web page to help you with your transition and give you
the most current Bursar Office information.
